Where do I start with Sector Logics Data Recovery? Well, my hard drive decided to crash on me, right before I had my thesis due within the next 2 days, so I was completely frustrated. I searched for local data recovery companies in the Colorado area, and found that Sector Logics had a local office near me, great I thought why not drop off my hard drive at their local office for data recovery? So I dropped off my hard drive, and paid a couple hundred extra dollars to get their quicker service so that I could have my data retrieved, and my paper recovered from my hard drive in time. Well, aparently this is a huge scam, because even though I paid the $300 to hurry up the actual recovery, I still did not recieve my data in time as promised, hell I actually recieved no data at all. Anyways, after paying $300 to quicken their data recovery staff, I received a call saying it would cost me $2100 to retrieve the data!! I was shocked, but what could I do I'm not going to redo about 2 semester's worth of work, so I opted to go ahead with the data recovery job, and paid them their $600 for parts (which by the way, I must have bought a used car for someone for $600 because I have never heard of parts for a hard drive costing $600, plus they should have these parts anyways, they are a data recovery company right?) After paying them this money, they pretty much disappeared and stopped answering my phone calls and repeated messages. I ended up having to drive over to their facility and yelling at the top of my lungs about a week after having dropped off my hard drive for someone to talk to me and tell me that the data was unretrievable and I was out almost a thousand dollars. (by the way my thesis was lost and I had to redo it, as these idiots were not able to retrieve the data off my hard drive, and me going to them and yelling about it is already a couple days late of the turn in date so they completely screwed me). Please stay away from these data recovery crooks and scam artists, they are a new version of the old smooth talking used car salesmen, and will literally rip you off because they could not recover data from the simplest of any jobs like deleted data that you threw into your recycling bin, much less if your hard drive has been mechanically damaged as they claim. Bottom line is I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that Sector Logics data recovery does not keep up with this charade, and does not scam anyone else that needs their data recovered from as much money as me.
