Sent a laptop hard drive in for recovery with a complete list of the files I wanted recovered. I was even so kind to provide these professionals with complete file paths from the root directory down. I wanted FOUR... only 4 folders. I have quite a bit of experience with this sort of thing having worked as data recovery technician before. The only reason I did not perform this myself was because I no longer have my tools or spare drive parts lying around. Anyway, I accurately diagnosed the problem with the drive before sending it and knew the platters were completely recoverable. The first time I got something back from them, I got a DVD containing absolutely nothing I requested. It was all garbage. I filed a claim with Paypal, and they refunded me my money. Their excuse was, they use several servers and one got filled up so they had to split the recovery and forgot to include the data I requested. When I asked why they would even bother sending me the garbage I didn't request it was another untrue excuse. To make a loooong story short, there were many phone calls and more excuses. The last one being that they didn't have the data and needed me to send the drive back so they could pull the data off again... which proves the first excuse was a lie. Anyway, the very last time I spoke to someone before receiving my data, the guy claimed to be the owner and told me he would stick a check in the box for all of my trouble. SHOCKER... no check in the box, but we'll see if anyone returns the last email I sent them. In all of this, I will say they were more than willing to reduce the price of the repair every time they screwed up. It went $500 to $200. Do the math and think about how many phone calls and excuses that was. Considering, the length of this I've been very patient. This has gone on about a month, and I'm still waiting for that check from the owner. These guys are the cheapest service on the internet and there's a reason.
