My 200G Maxtor portable hard drive (Model 3200) was fried when I plugged wrongly the adaptor of my notebook computer (output DC 19V 3.42A) into the hard drive. The right adaptor for the hard drive has an output of DC 12V 2A. The hard drive contains 160G data of photo, music and video files that are extremely valuable to me, so I definitely needed the data to be recovered. I called five data recovery specialists/firms in the San Francisco Bay Area (where I live) and the notable Silicon Valley, and sent my damaged hard drive to one of them for diagnostics. What surprised me was that all their quotes for data recovery ranged from several hundred to more than $1,000. What further pissed me off is that they all claimed that no guarantee for recovery, neither will they hold liability for further damage. When I was about to give up my attempt, I found Brad Holderman of EasternShore Forensics, LLC., who promised me of full recovery at very reasonable cost. So I decided to give a try. Within a few days, he recovered ALL my data. This was extremely surprising and I was very happy with his service and felt very lucky to have found him. His service offered the best benefit/cost ratio as compared to other firms. I was also very impressed by his professionalism through our emails and telephone communications. I voluntarily sent him additional $100 to express my appreciation.
