This portion of Data Recovery Comparison will be used to independently
investigate the various data recovery companies. We will have a particular order
that we would investigate these companies in; basically the company with the
most complaints on this website will be investigated first. These investigations
will be independently conducted by the person who runs this website, along with
various other employees. The process will be completely documented with digital
photographs, invoices, phone calls, and many other pieces of evidence that could
be used for comparison/reviewing purposes.
How this process will work:
1.) Data Recovery Comparison will buy a brand new hard drive and write various
data on it.
2.) Data Recovery Comparison will then methodically; with the consult of our
private engineering consultants; damage the drive to the point that it will need
recovery, whether this would require software recovery or clean room recovery
will depend on the situation.
3.) Data Recovery Comparison will then take pictures of this whole process, and
post them on this website, and will mark the drives (just in case the data
recovery company decides to just switch the label and send us a different drive
back).
4.) Data Recovery Comparison will then document all the information given to us
by the selected data recovery company (the diagnostic) and will then compare
this to what we actually did to the drives and see if the information matches
up. This will in fact check the integrity of the data recovery company itself.
5.) We will then either decide to go ahead with the recovery or have it shipped
back to us (depending on the results of match up diagnostic).
6.) Afterwards we will document this, along with pricing information, and pass
it on along to our members.
Hopefully this whole process will prove which companies are trustworthy and
which are not, and will help out recovery consumers by allowing them to review
these reports and choose a company based off of this information. For obvious
legal reasons some of the information (names of the consumer, service number,
etc) may be blacked out; this serves not for the purpose of deceiving our
members, but will help protect our confidential identity so that these
corporations can not match up our staff in their system and realize that they
must give us a “fair diagnostic”. Keep in mind we will try to act like average
consumers so that they give normal pricing and information to our staff.
